Moose Blood – I’ll Keep You In Mind. From Time To Time

Hailing from Canterbury, England, MOOSE BLOOD was formed in 2012 by close friends Brewerton, Mark Osborne, Glenn Harvey and Kyle Todd. United by their passion for music and love for mid-90s emo, the band set out to create a sound that was distinctly their own. Since their inception the band has released two EPs, Moving Home and Boston/Orlando, and a split 7″ with labelmates DEPARTURES with their new label No Sleep Records and has toured with bands like APPLESEED CAST, I AM THE AVALANCHE, MAJOR LEAGUE and DADS. Two short years after forming, MOOSE BLOOD returns with their impressive debut full-length record, I’ll Keep You In Mind, From Time To Time. “I’ll Keep You In Mind, From Time To Time is everything that we’ve been working towards since the start of the band in 2012,” says drummer Glenn Harvey. “I think there is a much more personal and honest feel to this record than on anything else we’ve done up to this point. Seeing these songs turn from ideas at our practice space to a finished 11-track album has been an incredible experience. We’re all really proud of this record and we can’t wait for everybody to finally hear it.” MOOSE BLOOD aren’t afraid to wear their hearts on their sleeves. Produced by SAOSIN guitarist Beau Burchell, I’ll Keep You In Mind, From Time To Time is replete with heartfelt, yearning lyrics about life and love that exude vulnerability with a comforting warmth. The record moves through waves of emotion from the pensive opening ballad ‘Cherry’ to the follow-up upbeat tempo of ‘Anyway’, sailing through the mounting crescendos of ‘I Hope You’re Missing Me’ to the memorable, driving rhythm of ‘Swim Down’. With each chorus and riff, I’ll Keep You In Mind, From Time To Time draws listeners in with its unrelenting honesty and intense passion. 2014 will undoubtedly be the year MOOSE BLOOD makes their everlasting mark on the alternative rock scene.

Iceage – Plowing in the Field of Love – 3-sided LP

“Plowing Into the Field of Love” is the third album from Copenhagen’s ICEAGE. It is new, bold and forceful. Channeling the rage and emotion of their tempestuous early releases into finely honed musicianship, “Plowing Into The Field of Love” features piano, mandolin, viola and organ atop Johan Suurballe-Wieth’s razor-sharp guitars and the lolloping, synchronized rhythm section of Jacob Tvilling Pless and Dan Kjær Nielsen. The record has a clear, uncompressed sound, and Elias Bender Rønnenfelt’s desperate vocals are out front, nakedly accountable for the words. At the other extreme, the album tends to a sort of euphoria, especially in the unexpectedly upbeat country number “The Lord’s Favorite”. Yet desperation and loss lurks behind. This is an album about seeing, learning, and rejecting things, in a cycle that repeats and builds. The reference points are wildly varied – on a recent German radio show, the band played records by Abner Jay, Rowland S. Howard, Brian Eno, and Coil – but the sound is uniquely and darkly Iceage. “Iceage has always been a stylish band, so the accompanying video takes every opportunity to drive their point home: while taking lurid pulls off cigarettes and martinis, Ronnenfelt’s searing stare betrays the fact he knows damn well how much he’s playing against type.” – Pitchfork on “The Lord’s Favorite” (BEST NEW TRACK). Available on CD and LP. Special edition vinyl package features 3 sided-vinyl with 16-page black& white booklet.

Julee Cruise – Floating Into the Night

‘Floating Into The Night’ is the 1989 debut album by vocalist Julee Cruise featuring songs written and produced by composer Angelo Badalamenti and film director David Lynch (who wrote the lyrics). The songs “Falling” and “Rockin’ Back Inside My Heart” were both featured in Lynch’s cult television series, Twin Peaks. The instrumental version of ‘Falling’ was the theme song for Twin Peaks while the album as a whole is almost an unofficial soundtrack to the series. The track ‘Mysteries Of Love’ was prominently featured in Lynch’s classic film Blue Velvet. Cruise’s dreamy, light vocals match perfectly with the music and lyrics to make this album sound like it is unattached to any era or time.
