April is such a fun month here at Backbeat…not only do we celebrate Record Store Day for music lovers, we also celebrate all things book-related on Authors for Indies Day! This year, Authors for Indies falls on Saturday, April 30th and we’re super excited to be hosting children’s author Sandra Bradley. We just received copies of her highly-praised book Henry Holton Takes the Ice and we can’t recommend it highly enough!
If you have kids around the Kindergarten to Grade 3 age range, Sandra will be doing a reading of her book as well as some other favourites and she’ll be here from 1 – 3 pm.
We’ll be posting lots more info leading up to the event, but to remind you from last year, Authors for Indies is a unique day when published authors volunteer their time at independent bookstores across Canada in order to raise awareness of indie bookstores and how important they are to our communities, our reading lives, and our cultural well-being. We’re honoured and excited to be participating once again!
