This weeks featured new vinyl releases PLUS Radiohead and Pink Floyd details.

Hey there! This year seemed like it started pretty slow for decent new music coming out, now in the past month or so there have been so many great albums to consume. We have 3 recent releases to feature this week, plus a handful of restocks and additions came in too. All the details are down below, but first we finally have info to share on the new Radiohead and Pink Floyd reissues coming.

New Radiohead Album

We’ve already received a load of requests for the new Radiohead album “A Moon Shaped Pool” so please let us know if you want to get on the pre-order list, it’s your best chance to make sure you get your hands on it when it comes out June 17. Price for the 2x LP will be $34.95, we’ve dug around and so far this is the best price we’ve seen in Canada.

Pink Floyd Re-issues

Pink Floyd 2016

Next up are the Pink Floyd re-issues. These have been a long time coming and right now sounds like they are going to re-issue the whole catalog in stages. First up will be their first four albums; The Piper At the Gates Of Dawn, A Saucerful Of Secrets, More and Ummagumma (2LP). Pricing on the first 3 will be $23.95 and Ummagumma will be $36.95. New Featured Vinyl Releases

Featured New Releases May 13

Anohni – Hopelessness

A collaboration with Oneohtrix Point Never and Hudson Mohawke, HOPELESSNESS is a dance record with soulful vocals and lyrics addressing subjects including surveillance, drone warfare and ecocide, global boiling and collapsing biodiversity. The album seeks to disrupt assumptions about popular music through the collision of electronic sound and highly politicized lyrics, and is a monument to Anohnis powerful voice and career, as well as a Trojan horse for her message of our universal accountability towards our world.

Brian Eno – The Ship

The Ship is Eno’s first solo record since 2012’s Grammy-nominated LUX. Originally conceived from experiments with three dimensional recording techniques and formed in two, interconnected parts, ‘The Ship’ is almost as much musical novel as traditional album. Eno brings together beautiful songs, minimalist ambience, physical electronics omniscient narratives and technical innovation into a single, cinematic suite. The result is the very best of Eno, a record without parallel in his catalogue.

Kevin Morby – Singing Saw

Singing Saw is a record written simply and realized orchestrally. In it, Kevin Morby faces the reality that true beauty – deep and earned – demands a whole-world balance that includes our darker sides. It is a record of duality, one that marks another stage of growth for this young, gifted songwriter with a kind face and a complicated mind.
Morby opens Singing Saw with “Cut Me Down”, a song of tears, debts and a prescient vision of being reduced to nothing. “I Have Been to the Mountain”, “Destroyer” and “Black Flowers” continue to explore beauty and freedom, seizing upon the rot that seeps into even the supposedly safest of realms; peace, family and romantic love. By the end of the record on “Water”, Morby is literally begging to be put out once and for all, like a fire that might burn all the visions away.
