How Can I Still Support Backbeat?

Hey Backbeaters! As you know, our shop is closed until further notice because of Covid-19. We’ve had lots of emails and messages from you folks about how you can support us or how to continue purchasing records and books. Let’s break it down:

  1. How can I help support Backbeat?
You can purchase an eGift card online now and use it at our shop when we are back open. https://squ.re/2U3u9Sp
  2. I really need some new tunes! How can Backbeat help me?
Check out our “Flippin’ Videos” of our entire USED https://youtu.be/SyK2OkErQQE and NEW https://youtu.be/Dgdor710la0 record inventory. Send us an email or message to purchase and we can ship them to you within Ontario via Canada Post. Shipping costs are: $5 for purchases over $100, $10 for purchases between $50-$99 and $15 for any purchases under $50. 13% tax will be added to all record purchases. Payment can be made by e-transfer / PayPal / credit card.
  3. I don’t need my new tunes now, but how can I still support Backbeat?
Check out our “Flippin’ Videos” of our entire used and new record inventory (links above). Send us an email or message then come on in and pick them up when things are back to normal. Full payment is still required and can be made by e-transfer / PayPal / credit card.
  4. I really need some new reads! How can Backbeat help me?
Check out our “Book Browse” video https://youtu.be/4bLfUMWKotk which has a large selection of our used books and send us an email or message to purchase and we can ship them to you within Ontario via Canada Post. You can get yourself 4 used books for $36 shipped (that includes the tax). Payment can be made by e-transfer / PayPal / credit card.
  5. Can I just leave my house and come to your shop to get my stuff?
Store/curbside pickup is not available. Please be safe and stay home. Our hope is that limiting outings for necessities only will speed up our return to normal operations, something we eagerly hope for.
  6. Will we be launching an online store?
The quick answer is no. We truly believe that buying books and records is about digging and discovering something special in a physical store. Flipping through records and browsing the spines of books is a tactile experience that cannot be duplicated online. Checking out our flippin’ / book browse videos and sending us a message for something you’d like to buy is the way to go for now. If this drags on, an online shop is something we will consider.

While we wait out this “storm” and hope for the quick return to normal operations, we will continue to evaluate what we do/how we operate and adjust as necessary.

Stay safe, be kind and we will see you soon!
