It’s Sunday…time for A Nice Pair! This week, we’re pairing the Sex Pistols’ Never Mind the Bollocks with Lipstick Traces: A Secret History of the Twentieth Century by Greil Marcus.
For a band that was only together for a couple of years, they’ve definitely left a sharp legacy. Lipstick Traces is a similar anomaly. While it’s not a biography of the group, its inception was born from the author’s fascination about them and is bookended by them but really it’s a study of counterculture and rebellion throughout history.
