This week’s A Nice Pair (book and vinyl pairings) is an ode to the DJ. We recommend pairing the book The Record Players: The Story of Dance Music Told by History’s Greatest DJs with the 25th Anniversary Edition Half Speed Master version of Endtroducing by DJ Shadow, one of the superstar artists featured in the book.
The book’s authors Bill Brewster and Frank Broughton who also authored the popular Last Night a DJ Saved My Life feature such big names as Grandmaster Flash, Paul Oakenfold and Pete Tong. DJ Shadow, a self-professed hardcore crate digger reinvigorated forgotten about artists’ music through his archaeology and samples.
Turn it on, turn it up and get your read and dance on.
