It’s Sunday which means it’s time for A Nice Pair – book and albums we recommend pairing together for a perfect listening/reading session.
This week, we’re featuring the book Looking to Get Lost: Adventures in Music & Writing by acclaimed biographer Peter Guarlnick with the self-titled album by Howlin’ Wolf. The book features personal portraits of musicians and writers at the height of their careers, one of whom is Howlin’ Wolf.
Looking to get Lost was rated as one of NPR’s Best Books of 2020 and one of Kirkus Review/Rolling Stone’s Top Music Books of 2020.
The album features two of the three songs that were listed by The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in its 500 Songs That Shaped Rock and Roll – The Red Rooster and Spoonful.
