A couple days after our last post and another delivery shows up, gives us a good excuse to talk vinyl. Another batch of re-stocks (“Born To Die” finally is back in stock) and some new additions to the vinyl rotation here. Of course we’ve got a few new (recent) releases to feature today. No SoundCloud for these unfortunately just a couple videos down below for you to check out. Speaking of videos, we’ve mixed in some videos on the main page of our website. When you are scrolling through the posts you’ll see a few videos you can click and play right there. Like? No Like? Give us your feedback!
Here’s a peek at some of the re-stocks and new additions, there is more but they came in a later delivery so they missed photo day.
On to the recent releases.
Nirvana – KAOS FM Live 17/04/1987
Recorded at the legendary KAOS FM studios in Olympia, Washington on the 17th of April, 1987, only a few months into the formation of the most important band of the 90s, this is Nirvana at their earliest and rawest. Ripping through a number of songs that would be found on their 1989 Sub Pop debut, Bleach, as well as some deep catalog rarities, this crisp and clear live recording finds Kurt Cobain and Co. in a primitive and absolutely exciting form. An absolute necessity for any serious Nirvana fan. European import unofficial release limited to 500 copies.

Kurt Vile – B’Lieve I’m Going Down (2LP)
Kurt Vile returns with “b’lieve i’m goin down”, his follow up to “Wakin’ On A Pretty Daze” from 2013. “b’lieve i’m goin down” is Vile’s sixth album, and shows Kurt both deeply introspective and briskly self-assured. Kurt’s new songs have “sort of dark,” “late-night” qualities. In addition to his usual full-band and solo guitar tracks, the new project includes songs written on piano and banjo. He’s logged recording sessions in Brooklyn, Athens, and Los Angeles as well as the Joshua Tree home studio Rancho De La Luna. He has also unveiled, Pretty Pimpin’, the first single and video which you can watch at beggarsgoup.ca. As longtime fan Kim Gordon wrote about the album: “Kurt does his own myth-making; a boy/man with an old soul voice in the age of digital everything becoming something else, which is why this focused, brilliantly clear and seemingly candid record is a breath of fresh air”.
Eagles Of Death Metal – Zipper Down
Jesse Hughes and Joshua Homme are sharing some sexy Eagles of Death Metal news, including release plans for their fourth album, ZIPPER DOWN, EODM’s first new studio release since 2008. Currently on tour in Europe, the dynamic duo is also revealing EODM’s extensive tour plans for North America and Europe, and announcing an upcoming VICE-produced documentary film about the charismatic Hughes (AKA “Boots Electric”). EODM was formed in 1998 in Palm Desert, California by best friends Jesse Hughes and Joshua Homme. Despite their band name, EODM (Eagles Of Death Metal) is not a death metal band. The story goes that a friend was introducing Joshua Homme to the death metal genre, and Homme wondered what a cross between the Eagles and a death metal band would sound like. With that, EODM was born.
Hey, Christine, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
