BOWIE

It’s Friday! It’s also a bit of a Bowie day here. Some more vinyl reissues this time from Bowie’s 90s catalogue have been released. Recently included as part of the Brilliant Adventure box set in 2021 they are now available individually.

Black Tie White Noise (1993)
Recorded after a six-year hiatus from his solo career and on the heels of his marriage to Iman, ‘Black Tie White Noise’ bursts with Bowie’s newly inspired creative ambition.

Buddha Of Suburbia (1993)
The project originated following an interview between Bowie and novelist Hanif Kureishi during a press tour for Black Tie White Noise, where Bowie agreed to compose music for an upcoming adaptation of Kureishi’s 1990 novel The Buddha of Suburbia.

Outside (The Nathan Adler Diaries: A Hyper Cycle) (1995)
The album reunited Bowie and musician Brian Eno following the late 1970s Berlin Trilogy. The two were inspired by concepts “outside” the mainstream, such as various outsider and performance artists.

Earthling (1997)
Mostly self-produced by Bowie, it was primarily recorded from August to October 1996 at New York City’s Looking Glass Studios following the conclusion of the Outside Tour.

We also received several restocks and new additions this week to our vinyl selection here at Backbeat. You can check those out on our eShop here: https://shop.backbeatperth.com/collections/recent-restocks-and-additions
But better than shopping for records online is browsing records in a record store!
