Today’s book and music pairing is the autobiography Let Love Rule and the album Mama Said by Lenny Kravitz.
Let Love Rule is a memoir by Lenny Kravitz that covers his life from his childhood to his rise to fame as a musician. The book covers his time in New York and Los Angeles, as well as further afield in France, England, and Germany. It is the story of a creative kid who finds salvation in music despite tough struggles at school and extreme tension at home. The book also shares all the musicians who shaped Kravitz growing up, including the Jackson 5, Stevie Wonder, Gladys Knight and Jimi Hendrix.
Mama Said is Lenny Kravitz’s second studio album. Originally released in 1991, we’re currently stocking the reissue from 2018. Hits included the title track, It Ain’t Over ’til It’s Over and Always on the Run.
