It’s Sunday which means it’s time for A Nice Pair – book and vinyl pairings that go together like Thanksgiving weekend and an increased presence of wild turkeys in the backyard. Today we’re pairing the book Joni: The Anthology by Barney Hoskyns with the album Blue by Joni Mitchell.

Joni: An Anthology is a deep dive into the iconic Canadian musician’s career told chronologically via interviews, articles and reviews of her performances and recordings. It charts every major moment of her career between 1967-2007 and provides thoughtful commentary on her early years.

We’re pairing the book with Blue, Joni’s fourth studio album, which has been widely considered by music critics as one of the greatest albums of all time. Originally released in 1971, it features hits such as Carey and A Case of You.
