A Nice Pair: Lamb of God

It’s Sunday and you know what that means…it’s time for A Nice Pair! Today we’re pairing the memoir Dark Days by D. Randall Blythe with the Lamb of God album Into Oblivion.

Dark Days isn’t the typical musician memoir – instead it centers around Lamb of God’s Randy Blythe’s manslaughter trial in 2012/13. After landing in Prague for a concert, Blythe was arrested at the airport and charged with the manslaughter of a 19-year-old fan. Instead of sightseeing around the historic city as planned, he found himself in a different historic venue: the notorious Pankrac Prison. Dark Days chronicles the heavy metal vocalist’s incarceration, trial and ultimate acquittal via his unique brand of storytelling.

Released in March 2026, Into Oblivion is Lamb of God’s twelfth studio album. About the title and themes of the album, Blythe said: “In general, the album is about the ongoing and rapid breakdown of the social contract, particularly here in America. Things are acceptable now that would’ve horrified people just 20 years ago.” Hits include the title track and Sepsis.
