A Nice Pair: Willie Nelson

It’s Sunday and it’s time for A Nice Pair – our weekly vinyl and book series. Today we’re pairing the book Me and Sister Bobbie: True Tales of the Family Band by Willie and Bobbie Nelson with Willie’s latest album Dream Chaser.

The memoir, written in alternating chapters, shares stories about the close siblings’ experiences growing up in a small Texas town. Bobbie’s chapters explore her personal relationships, motherhood and life as a musician. Willie’s chapters speak of his love for his sister and how their special bond helped him through troubled times. It’s truly a story of the triumph of family love.

Released in May, Dream Chaser is Willie Nelson’s 79th(!) solo studio album. Exploring themes of relationships, personal growth and life on the road, it features the song I Can’t Read Your Mind, co-written with Nelson, Bob Dylan and Buddy Cannon, as well as Fly Away and We’d Make a Good Movie.
