Looking back at the albums of 2013

Running the music half of Backbeat has certainly changed the amount of music and types of music I have been exposed to and listening to throughout the year. It’s amazing to talk to people who are passionate about music and I always do my best to check out music that is recommended to me. I try to listen to everything new that is coming in before I order it. Sometimes it’s only a track or two and sometimes I get hooked and fall in love with another album or artist.

I have decided to share my top albums from this past year. I’ve arranged the albums by release date as there is no way I would attempt to do a “Top 10” type rating. I’ve selected tracks from the albums that I feel best represent the album as a whole. So understand it is the album I love and these songs may not even be my favourite but will give you the best idea of what the album is about in my opinion. I hope you enjoy.

It was an amazing years for albums. I truly beleive vinyl is pushing artists to once again focus on the entire album creation process and not just the individual songs.
