Here’s a random assortment of the latest new books we’ve brought in. So many of these varied titles are on my (never-ending) to-read list! The Boss was eagerly awaiting The Meltdown for months. We read our copy the minute it arrived and, like all of the other books in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series, we awarded it with one of our Backbeat Recommended Reads tag. Whenever you see one of these tags in a book here, it means we’ve personally read it cover to cover and enjoyed it.
Other standouts here include:
- Rosie Revere and the Raucous Riveters – the first in a new middle grade series called The Questioneers. Growing fans of Andrea Beaty’s children’s books will recognize Iggy Peck, Ada Twist and Rosie Revere as they embark upon new adventures.
- This Will Only Hurt a Little – Busy Philipps (Freaks and Geeks, Dawson’s Creek, and Cougar Town) has written her first book, a memoir, and if you follow her on Instagram, you know this relatable, down-to-earth star will have you laughing while discussing all of the ins and outs of life, love and motherhood.
- The Kingfisher Secret – The author of this book is anonymous. Why all the secrecy? The publisher tells us this particular author is “a respected author and journalist. His identity is being kept secret in order to protect the ideas that inspired this novel.” It’s billed as a conspiracy thriller that closely mirrors a certain current controversial presidency.
