A Nice Pair: Buffy Sainte-Marie

Today’s book and music pairing features Buffy Sainte-Marie. We’re pairing her latest book, Still This Love Goes On with the album The Best of Buffy Sainte-Marie.

This children’s book is simple and beautiful, both in the words, which are the lyrics of her song of the same name, and the artwork by Julie Flett. Buffy wrote the lyrics while staying in a cabin in Alberta in the wintertime. She reflected on the different seasons and the little things she appreciates as the seasons change on the reserve but how her love for the nature that surrounds her never changes.

We’re pairing it with her Best Of album which features some of her biggest hits such as Universal Soldier, Until It’s Time For You To Go and I’m Gonna Be a Country Girl Again.
