Backbeat is turning 10 next month! We are truly humbled by your support and want to have some fun to kick off our 10th anniversary celebration. Maybe you’ve been shopping at Backbeat since the beginning or maybe you just discovered our store recently – either way we’re so glad to have met you!

Next month Backbeat is turning 10 but today (4/20) is our family’s anniversary when we reopened the shop under new ownership.

A little Backbeat history:
Backbeat was launched on May 29, 2011 by Johnny Pigeau and Erin Daley and was dubbed “a one-of-a-kind destination shop” which featured new and used books, CDs, movies, records and an assortment of other wares. In the winter of 2013 they had to sell the store and that’s when Dan (The Music), Christine (The Books) and Tenzin (The Boss) became the new owners. We re-launched Backbeat on April 20, 2013 and over the past 8 years Backbeat has grown its selection of new and used records, started selling turntables and audio accessories and continued to sell a wide selection of used books. We are now a destination for book and vinyl lovers from all over Ontario and beyond. We look forward to continuing to be your small indie record and book shop.
