The Sadies – Darkthrone + More More More

It wouldn’t be the weekend without another bunch of new and recent releases to hit the shelves here at Backbeat. There are new releases from The Sadies and Darkthrone plus recent releases from Sloan and The 1975. K. Flay has released both 2021 EPs as a limited edition LP plus we’ve got a couple copies of the Mac Miller Macadelic 10th anniversary edition. There’s a few more too, here’s a quick rundown of recent new releases that rolled in this week.

K.Flay – Inside Voices / Outside Voices
She brings together the two EPs to create the deluxe edition ‘Inside Voices / Outside Voices’ collection, also featuring two new tracks to round-out an album that is shape-shifting in styles, unapologetic in lyricism, and achingly vulnerable.

The Sadies – Colder Streams
Colder Streams is a record made with love by loved ones. The Sadies have released a lot of records. This is one of them.

Darkthrone – Astral Fortress
Astral Fortress is itself a swift follow-up to 2021’s Eternal Hails opus, because of Darkthrone’s consistent & ongoing writing process, which has been in force for some years now. For Darkthrone does not sleep – it only waits.

Sloan – Steady
From the band’s earliest home studio recordings that married their pop smarts with fizzy, fuzzed out guitars that sat somewhere to the left of the shoegaze and grunge movements of the day. In 2022, some 30 years on from when it all began, with the release of their 13th full-length album Steady, the tale is – thankfully – far from over.

Mac Miller – Macadelic (10th Anniversary Edition)
10th anniversary silver deluxe vinyl release of Mac Miller’s 2012 mixtape, Macadelic. Double LP pressed on silver vinyl.

The 1975 – Being Funny In A Foreign Language (Indie Exclusive)
The 1975 return with their 5th studio album, Being Funny In A Foreign Language. The album was written by Matthew Healy and George Daniel and recorded at Real World Studios (UK) and Electric Lady Studios (NYC).

Stranger Things: Soundtrack From The Netflix Series – Season 4
Stranger Things: Soundtrack from the Netflix Series, Season 4 will include key music covering various classic eras and styles as featured in “Stranger Things 4.”

Tom Waits – Alice (20th Anniversary Edition)
“Alice” is one of the most distinctive of all Tom Waits’ creations, occupying its own corner in the odd-angled room that is Waits’ body of work. While there are familiar parts – the redoubtable ragged voice, jazz ballads and poignant musings on death and longing – the whole is strange and exotic.

See you soon!
